Colin is a team player.
For nearly two decades, Colin has worked in fast-paced newsrooms and as part of groundbreaking efforts to improve consumer protection. This experience has given him a keen understanding of both the needs of media outlets and how public policy is shaped.
Before joining McCabe Message Partners, he managed a project at The Pew Charitable Trusts that played a prominent role in pressing for passage and full implementation of the landmark FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), which was the first update to the oversight law since the Great Depression.
Earlier in his career, he was a journalist who covered many issues concerning the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), including regulation of emerging technologies, clean water, and toxic substances. Prior to that, he worked at a newspaper in northern New Mexico.
Colin earned his bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison but spent most of his time at the independent student newspaper.
